Summary of 'Éirigí'

A preamble opens the play.

Act I
The first scene opens in a room, in a house, setting the scene for a discussion based around the 1913 Lockout and the planning of a possible revolt against Foreign Rule.

Act II

Act II opens with a lively discussion, on the forthcoming Rising (Éirí Amach), events at the G.P.O and the Reading of the Proclamation.  We see fighting in Mount Street.  This act finishes with the surrender of the rebel leaders
to General Lowe.

This Act sees the re-enactment of the marriage  of Grace Gifford and Joseph Plunkett in Kilmainham Gaol before his execution.

The play concludes with the cast forming our National Emblem, the Shamrock, as we look forward to the future.
